Continuing the Legacy
OLPH has provided a top-quality education experience to generations of students, rooted in a commitment to deepen our faith and foster an environment where the children grow spiritually, morally, intellectually, socially and physically as an integral part of the community.
But how does a great school maintain this level of excellence generation after generation? The answer lies in the collective strength and loyalty of the OLPH community. Our school has a wonderful legacy of parents working together to build and maintain our school over the years. We have a very generous community that started to support the North Wing Project in 2010. Donations received through Project Advance in 2010-2012, walk-a-thons, and Friday Night Fusion in 2011 have supported the Project. We are all benefiting from the generosity of previous generations of parents and parishioners. It is now our turn to continue the legacy.
The OLPH North Wing Project
OLPH Parish is building a new North Wing to replace the existing structure, which was built in 1943 with standards that are not in keeping with today’s seismic and building codes.
The new North Wing will continue to house our Primary grades, and will have modern classrooms that are designed to reflect current teaching practices. The new wing will also have an additional classroom to accommodate a second full-day Kindergarten class.
- The existing North Wing will be torn down in June, 2013.
- The 14-month project will complete in time for school starting September 2014.
- Portables will be required for 2013/2014 and will be located on the school site.
- The portables will be very high-quality, similar to the existing Junior Kindergarten portable in the courtyard.
The parish office received donations for a total of 1M which combined with other initiatives brings our total of cash and pledges to 1.8M.
Ways to Give:
Our goal is 100% participation from OLPH families. Making a gift to OLPH is a wonderful way to show your support for our school. Please use the guide below to assist you in determining the type of gift you wish to make. What types of gifts does OLPH accept?
One-time gift is given all at once by cash, cheque or credit card.
Pledge has a particular start and end date and a fixed amount determined by the donor. It can be made by credit card or direct deposit from your bank account.
Monthly gift makes it easy for you to give to OLPH. Your gift is automatically charged to your credit card or deducted from your bank account each month. Monthly giving can be discontinued at any time with notification.
A Gift of Securities: Educational institutions across Canada continue to strive for excellence despite continual challenges to their operating budgets. Our governments realize that on-going success in the field of education and other sectors has been greatly enhanced in recent years by gifts from individual donors and other philanthropic organizations. In an effort to make this type of philanthropy even more accessible, the Federal government has passed legislation whereby gifts of appreciated securities are fully exempt from capital gains tax when donated to a charitable organization.
Donors of appreciated securities to OLPH receive a tax receipt for the fair market value of their gift on the day it is received.
Matching Gifts: Double your impact! Does your company participate in a matching gift program? Double or even triple the size of your gift to OLPH with a contribution made by your employer.

The new North Wing will be a joy for the children to be in. The space will be light-filled with large windows, natural wood, and concrete.
The large open corridors will have many areas for our children to create and collaborate.
